Air Jinnah: Air Arabia founds another offshoot

Under the name Air Jinnah, Air Arabia wants to bring another offshoot into the air in cooperation with the Lakson Group. This is to be located in Karachi (Pakistan) and pursue a low-cost business model.

It is the second joint venture that Air Arabia is currently working intensively on, because iFly Arna is supposed to take off in Armenia. In the past, Air Arabia was usually part of the name of the cooperation company. Examples are Air Arabia Egypt, Air Arabia Maroc and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. Different brands are used in both Armenia and Pakistan.

The new airline based in Karachi is named in honor of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was a resistance fighter and one of the key political forces that led to Pakistan's independence. The politician died in Karachi in September 1948.

There will be direct competition with both Pakistan International Airlines and Airblue. According to company information, the application for AOC and operating license has already been submitted. No further details are given about possible routes or types of aircraft. Since Air Arabia is extremely Airbus-savvy, the European aircraft manufacturer should have good cards.

“We are delighted that the Air Arabia Group is working with the Lakson Group on this joint venture to launch Pakistan's new low-cost airline. We are confident that Fly Jinnah will add value to Pakistan's aviation sector and directly contribute to the local economy through job creation and the development of travel and tourism sectors. We thank the Lakson Group and the Pakistani government for their trust and look forward to working hand in hand to develop the new airline that will serve as the new low cost air travel option for the country, ”said Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Air Arabia Group.
