Air Moldova last flew between Chisinau and Prague in July 2010. This route is to be reactivated at the start of the 2022/23 winter timetable period. The current plan is to run three rotations per week.

Air Moldova was forced to involuntarily cease operations shortly after the Russian Federation army invaded Ukraine. The government of the Republic of Moldova ordered an airspace closure for security reasons. This lasted for some time and it is only now that civil flights are gradually being reinstated.

For example, he drives Low-cost airline Wizz Air has increased its Chisinau offer again. Air Moldova is also in the process of restoring the route network or adding one or two new routes. Prague is not really new as it has had this destination in its portfolio in the past, however the last Air Moldova flight between the two capitals was in July 2021.

From October 30, 2022, the carrier wants to head for the city of Prague from Chisinau on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Medium-haul jets of the Airbus A319 type are to be used as aircraft. As early as October 16, 2022, two weekly rotations to Tbilisi are scheduled to begin. As of October 30, 2022, the Chisinau-Tbilisi route is to be increased to four rotations per week. The resumption of Warsaw flights is also planned.

Civil Aviation Authority bans Moscow flights

Regarding the reactivation of the announced in the previous week Flights between Chisinau and Moscow-Domodedovo the carrier received a ban from the civil aviation authority of the Republic of Moldova. Air Moldova wanted to fly between the two capitals up to ten times a week from October 1, 2022. Ticket sales have already started.

However, the Civil Aviation Authority does not believe in flying back to Russia. The office prohibited Air Moldova from (planned) operating the ten weekly Moscow flights. As a result, the sale of airline tickets was suspended on September 11, 2022. It is currently completely unclear whether the airline will be allowed to reactivate the Russia route at a later date. This is currently not possible due to the official prohibition.
