The Spanish airline Air Nostrum could face an indefinite pilot strike because the pilots represented by the Sepla union decided to take this step in a ballot. Approval is said to have been 92,37 percent.
Around 30 percent more wages are being demanded for the years 2023 and 2024. The management is said to have rejected the demand so far. The negotiations in this wage dispute are considered deadlocked, so that work stoppages could follow without a compromise. The pilots' union has not yet communicated a strike date.
“Air Nostrum pilots who met on January 30th and 31st have overwhelmingly - 92,37% of the vote - offered their support for an indefinite strike to counter the ongoing blockade, under the Spanish Pilots Union that technical staff members are suffering in light of their legitimate demands from the company," union Sepla said in a statement.
