In recent months, competition in the domestic flight segment has become increasingly fierce at Kiev-Zhuliany Airport. Motor Sich Airlines, Bees Airlines and Air Ocean Airlines compete in a match on several routes.

In addition, almost all routes that are offered from the inner-city airport of the Ukrainian capital also from the distant Borispil airport. So there is additional competition from Windrose, Skyup and other providers. In Shulyany there is also a route on which two competitors have come to terms with each other.

The connection between Kiev-Shulyany and Chernivtsi has never gone particularly well at Motor Sich Airlines. However, Air Ocean Airlines is of the opinion that there is market potential and that it can be done better than the previous operator. Nevertheless, passengers do not have to do without the vintage Antonov An-24 cars, because Air Ocean Airlines wet leases Motor Sich Airlines.

As a result, the only turboprop route currently in the network of the young airline has been created. It is flown under flight numbers from Air Ocean Airlines, but the operational implementation of the domestic flights to Chernivtsi with Antonov An-24 from Motor Sich Airlines.

The last named carrier operates an aging fleet and is considered a flying museum in aviation circles. In the course of establishing the planned state carrier, it is also discussed that some younger machines will be handed over to Motor Sich and that a regional network will then be served with these. But that's not fixed yet. The prospects that the start-up will settle in Shulyany instead of Borispil, however, are quite good. Passengers would benefit from this, because the city airport is characterized by short distances and a central location.
