The Serbian airline Air Serbia could celebrate another milestone in the next few weeks. In the next week, the Serbian national carrier could surpass the passenger numbers of 2019.

To date, from January to August, the Serbian airline Air Serbia has booked 2.7 million passengers on its flights. The annual result for 2019, which could possibly be cracked as early as next week, was 2,81 million passengers, according to the portal Ex-Yu Aviation News.

Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek says: “The current summer season will be remembered for numerous challenges. Bad weather conditions, frequent fuel bans, insufficient airport staffing, a global shortage of spare parts and other unfavorable circumstances hampered operations throughout the summer. Despite all of this, we carried over a million passengers to more than eighty destinations worldwide in July and August, breaking our pre-Covid-19 pandemic records. The busiest month was July, when we carried 27% more passengers than in July 2022 and 39% more than the same month in 2019. There were also good results in August, which was our 14th record month in a row. We are currently preparing intensively for the coming winter season, which is likely to be very dynamic.”
