Air traffic in Germany: BARIG calls for relief from high taxes

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG) warns of the negative effects of high government taxes on air traffic.

Air traffic is an important economic factor that is significantly burdened in Germany by costs such as air traffic tax and fees for security and air traffic control. These conditions have led to German airlines cutting back on their services and shifting connections abroad. BARIG is calling for a reduction in the taxes and points to Sweden, where the abolition of a similar tax has had positive effects.
