The Canadian airline Air Transat is the new record holder with the Airbus A321LR model: The company operated a commercial non-stop flight from Montreal to Athens. There has never been such a long journey with this type of aircraft before.

The A321LR used by Air Transat took eight hours and 7.651 minutes to cover the 20 kilometers. Airbus puts the maximum range of this model at 8.700 kilometers. This is made possible, among other things, by an additional tank with a capacity of 12.900 liters. This is mounted behind the wings.
