Jet Airways is positioning itself with new investors for a return – and, according to a media report, wants to order new A220s and A320s from Airbus.

Three years ago, Etihad Airways turned off the money supply to the Indian holding – the airline stopped flying, Boeing canceled orders for 200 737 MAXs and ten 787s. The investor team Murari Lal Jalan and Florian Fritsch want to get Jet Airways back in the air. According to information from the aviation portal “Aero”, Jet Airways is tending towards an Airbus fleet in the single-aisle segment for the first time when it restarts.

The airline is said to have orders for more than 50 A220 and A320neo series aircraft with a list value of US$5,5 billion. The competitor Air India, which the state has just sold to the industrial giant Tata, is also on a shopping spree: According to media information, Air India wants to order 50 A350 and 100 A321neo.
