The number of passengers at Frankfurt Airport in April was more than four times as high as in the same month of the previous year thanks to Easter traffic.

A total of around 4,0 million passengers used the airport - this corresponded to an increase of 303,8 percent, as reported by the operator Fraport. That was the strongest monthly value since the beginning of the corona pandemic, but the figures were still a good third below the pre-crisis level of April 2019. In the cargo business, Fraport continued to get through the consequences of the lockdowns in China due to the corona pandemic and the restrictions on airspace feel the Ukraine war. Cargo volume fell last month by 16 percent to 169.316 tons.

The number of flight movements more than doubled to 32.342 take-offs and landings, an increase of 108,8 percent. The international portfolio also benefited from the sustained revival in passenger demand. All Group airports achieved growth of over 100 percent compared to April 2021.
