Klagenfurt Airport has a new managing director in Maximilian Wildt. The former Lauda manager was already the marketing manager for the airport in the past before he left for Do&Co.
Since the now former majority owner Lilihill did not participate in the capital increase, the stake was diluted in favor of the city of Klagenfurt and the state of Carinthia (via K-BV). The public sector now holds the majority. Deputy Governor Martin Gruber (ÖVP) announced a few days ago that Lilihill's management would be dismissed and a new airport manager appointed.
Maximilian Wildt will now take on this job. The new Klagenfurt Airport Director has previously worked as Marketing Manager at Carinthian Airport. However, he left this last year in favor of a job at Do&Co. Before working at the airport, he held various positions for the low-cost airline Lauda.
However, Wildt did not receive a permanent contract, but was appointed adinterim for an initial period of six months. According to a statement from the representatives of the owners' representatives, the position of airport manager will be advertised and Wildt or another candidate will then be definitively appointed.
During a press conference, Maximilian Wildt said that there was still a lot of potential at Klagenfurt Airport. In any case, the presence of Ryanair, which he engineered himself in his former position as head of marketing, would be a good start. It would now be important for the core business to form the focus of the airport's activities.
Klagenfurt Airport has also got a new operations manager. Harald Stoutz, who held this position before becoming self-employed, is returning to the airport and was introduced as Accountable Manager. One of the biggest projects that he oversaw in Carinthia was the runway rehabilitation that was carried out a few years ago at Klagenfurt Airport.
