Weeze Airport expects lively operations in the coming months.

On the first holiday weekend alone, 12.000 passengers are expected, and around 193.000 passengers are expected in Weeze over the six holiday weeks. With this passenger volume, the airport has already reached the pre-corona level again. “The entire airport team is looking forward to the many holidaymakers who have chosen our airport. Together with our partners, we are doing everything we can to offer our customers a relaxed and comfortable start to the south during the summer holidays," says Dr. Sebastian Papst, Managing Director at Weeze Airport.

Against the background of the news about bottlenecks at some major airports, the popularity of the two-country airport, which is close to the border, is also increasing among the Dutch. Since the holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia in the summer of 2022 partially overlap with the "vacancies" in the Dutch provinces, the holiday season at Weeze Airport lasts around nine weeks. A total of more than 280.000 passengers are expected in Weeze during this period.

The range of flights this summer includes 29 destinations

Ryanair is once again flying to numerous holiday destinations around the Mediterranean. Palma de Mallorca is served twice a day. Palermo (Italy), Faro (Portugal), Malaga (Spain), Zadar (Croatia) and Marrakech (Morocco) are also included in the Irish airline's flight schedule several times a week. Corendon Airlines also flies to Antalya in Turkey twice a week. These flights also act as a basis for inexpensive package tours offered by major German and Dutch tour operators. The viewing terrace at the panorama restaurant is now open again for visitors and passengers.
