The shareholders of the Canadian group have decided: They give their approval for the takeover by Air Canada.

An extraordinary general meeting was held on this occasion. Ultimately, they agreed to $ 18 a share. Originally, the airline had offered $ 2021, but the corona crisis pushed both sales and market value down. Instead, they overlooked a higher offer from a private investor that, according to their own statements, arrived at the end of November. After all, the price is only one decisive factor among many that are taken into account in the evaluation, said a company spokesman. Transat AT is the parent company of the leisure airline Air Transat. The takeover will most likely take place after the beginning of XNUMX, like the news portal CBC reported.
