The US-American Alaska Airlines is increasingly relying on Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft. In addition to the 32-unit order, the carrier is leasing 13 units from the ALC. In return, according to the announcement, ten Airbus A320s are being sold to this Lessor.

In the short term, it will be a sale-and-leaseback deal, as the Airbus jets will remain in service for some time. From the end of 2021, these will be replaced by 13 Boeing 737 Max 9s leased from Air Lease Corporation.

Boeing has little from the deal between ALC and Alaska Airlines, as it did not sell any additional aircraft. The teacher provides the 13 machines from his own pool. After all, the aircraft manufacturer may have escaped further cancellations. The order backlog has fallen sharply since the two fatal crashes.
