The recently nationalized Alitalia will continue to work with Air Fance-KLM and other Skyteam members. They are no longer interested in a commercial collaboration with the Lufthansa Group. The new start under state ownership should bring about a significant reduction in the size of the carrier.

Alitalia stated that it will operate a maximum of 65 to 70 aircraft in the future. It is also expected that demand in the coming years will be significantly below the value of 2019. According to the current state of information, a total of 4.000 employees are expected to lose their jobs.
