The Italian airline has not made a profit for almost 20 years.

And had to file for bankruptcy in 2017. For this reason, the state had recently granted the carrier bridging loans amounting to billions. But apparently that is not enough: Alitalia could receive at least another 150 million euros to cushion the economic consequences of the Corona crisis, reports the aviation portal Swiss Aviation. A new package of measures by the Italian government would make this possible. Under certain circumstances, the amount of money could even increase to 200 million euros. Because the booking situation of the ailing airline would move at a low level in the new year. In the Corona year, Alitalia recorded a drop in sales of 78 percent from 2,67 billion euros to 590 million euros. The number of passengers fell from 2019 million in 21,2 to 6,3 million.
