The German tour operator Alltours is expected to only allow overnight stays in the Group's own Allsun hotels from October 31, 2021 if proof of a full vaccination against Covid-19 can be presented. People who cannot or do not want to do this will be excluded from accommodation in the future.
Alltours is a major tour operator in the DA-CH region. The group of companies operates a total of 35 hotels itself. These are located on Mallorca, the Canary Islands and in Greichenland. Company boss Willi Verhuven is convinced that he is going the right way: “We want to offer all guests the highest possible level of security so that they can enjoy their vacation in a relaxed manner”.
In a transitional phase, which could possibly be extended depending on the progress of the German vaccination campaign, a negative PCR or antigen test, which must not be older than 48 hours, must be presented at check-in. Even then, the following applies: Without a negative result, there will be no accommodation in the 35 Allsun Hotels. However, this should not be a significant problem, at least for Austrian holidaymakers, because there are now countless opportunities for the federal states, municipalities and pharmacies to be tested free of charge. Aviation Direct has an interactive map showing all free tests throughout Austria at provided on this link.
“Everyday masks” should be mandatory
The broadcast of Alltours also hides a very strange detail, because the tour operator writes that the wearing of “everyday masks” is mandatory for employees and guests. This is surprising in so far as more and more countries are stipulating the FFP2 standard, as it has meanwhile been shown that so-called surgical masks or mouth-nose protection made of fabric are hardly effective. Why Alltours explicitly uses the word “everyday masks” is a bit strange, especially since they are no longer allowed to be used even in the home country of the organizer, Germany.
The tour operator emphasized in the media statement that the tests and vaccinations would be an extension of the existing safety and hygiene concept. They want to vaccinate the staff as soon as possible. In this context it is also interesting that the Hoteliers Association of Mallorca urges the use of Sputnik V. and want to finance it if necessary.
Verhuven is counting on Easter holidays
"We assume that in the foreseeable future - maybe already at Easter - a safe holiday will be possible again in many countries," said Willi Verhuven. Spain, for example, has taken enormous hygiene and security measures against Corona. So z. B. all air travelers from a risk area can show a negative PCR or TMA test; this also applies to flights within Spain. Not least on the Canary Islands, which are popular with German holidaymakers, the measures have shown success: The 7-day incidence of the Canaries is 53; in Tenerife there are only 41.
