The German airline Alpen Air is considered a specialist for sightseeing flights. In the future, cross-country flights throughout Europe are also to be organised. The new Tecnam P2012 Traveler should also benefit climate protection.
The airline follows the following motto: "Anyone can offer simple sightseeing flights, we can do it better." The founders Ambrosius and Reuter, who are pilots themselves, submitted an application to carry out sightseeing flights in 2021. Their aircraft, the new Tecnam P2012 Traveller, which far exceeds the legal requirements, is considered the first European passenger aircraft of its kind. It is considered extremely environmentally friendly, as the greenhouse gas emissions are offset by the partner First Climate.
Three routes have been offered since last year: the Five Lakes Tour via Munich, the Neunschwanstein Route via Neuschwanstein Castle and the Alpine Route across the Alps. The departure and landing point for these sightseeing flights is Augsburg Airport, which is home to Alpen Air. Prerequisite for the realization of these sightseeing flights is suitable weather and enough passengers. After Alpen Air was able to achieve perfection in terms of its sightseeing flights, it intends to offer flights throughout Europe in the future. As co-founder Ambrosius confirms, the application required for this has already been submitted.
