The Russian airline Alrosa carried out the last passenger flight with Tupolev Tu-154M on the Mirny-Novosibirsk route. The RA-85757 is the last still active unit of this type to retire. Alrosa was the last operator of this type.
The Tu-154 was once the backbone of the fleets of many airlines in the former Eastern Bloc, but that ended on October 28, 2020. The RA-85757 has been in service with various airlines since 1992, most recently with Alrosa. According to the carrier, there were 141 passengers on board the last scheduled flight.
The company really loved the Tu-154M and operated it longer in passenger traffic than any other airline. It is also difficult to say goodbye, because the official media release says that you are sad. Alrosa had had the affected Tu-154M in its fleet since 2002. The further fate of the RA-85757 is still completely open. Both a place of honor in a museum and scrapping are currently being examined.
The Tu-154M can therefore no longer be found in regular service. The B-model is still - at least officially - in the fleet of the North Korean Air Koryo. This has a total of four Tu-154B-2. Furthermore, the airline from the isolated country is also the last civilian operator of the Tu-134B-3.
