The Cockpit association and the airline Malta Air have concluded a “collective agreement on private insurance solutions” for the pilots stationed in Germany. This regulates various insurance solutions for the time after the pilot's flying career.

Whether illness, loss of license (unfit to fly) or fund savings plans - the new collective agreement gives employees the freedom to insure themselves against risks individually according to their needs and receive a contribution in the same amount from their employer. “The collective bargaining commission and the employer are breaking new ground at Malta Air (Ryanair Group),” says Stefan Herth, President of the Cockpit Association. “The breakthrough for this innovative collective agreement was achieved after months of negotiations is for the pilots at Ryanair “Germany very pleasing.” The collective agreement is still subject to the usual committee reservations until March 8, 2024 and provides for retroactive entry into force on January 1, 2024.
