A step in the right direction: The US airline American Airlines made a small profit in the second quarter for the first time since the beginning of the Corona crisis.

The decisive factor for this positive development is the gradual recovery of aviation. The bottom line is that American Airlines has made a profit of around 19 million euros. This is reported by the aviation portal Aero. In the previous year, when the industry was idle due to the greatest crisis in aviation history, the airline had to cope with a loss of a good two billion dollars. At least mathematically, the company can draw on the full potential - according to its own statements, the US carrier had cash and cash equivalents of around $ 21,3 billion at the end of the quarter.
