Ameropa expands online package holiday sales

Advertising

The tour operator Ameropa, which specializes in train travel, has entered the online sales of package tours. The technology in the background comes from Online Travel Information Services AG based in Switzerland.

The new tool enables not only Deutsche Bahn tickets but also services from railway companies such as ÖBB, SBB, SNCF and Trenitalia to be included in package tours. It is hoped that this will improve competitiveness compared to air travel.

The technology used was originally developed for Railtour Suisse, but Ameropa acquired a corresponding license. Currently, the tour operator assumes that the new technology will be live from the third quarter of 2023.
