The US American Delta Air Lines has been offering connections and feeders in Thalys trains from / to Amsterdam since Tuesday. For the time being, the Belgian cities of Antwerp and Brussels are in the program by rail.

The new agreement enables customers to transfer seamlessly between plane and train at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with a single ticket booking. From the train station in Schiphol's Central Plaza there is access and frequent connections to the center of Brussels and Antwerp with travel times of just over an hour. The Thalys trains offer a comfortable travel experience with sockets at every seat and WiFi.

“The Air + Rail program with Thalys is just the beginning, because we want to offer our customers fast and convenient train connections to a number of destinations across Europe. It is also a great way for our European customers to travel to Amsterdam for flights to destinations in the United States, ”said Alain Bellemare, Delta President - International. “We have orientated ourselves on our partner airlines Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, which offer similar programs. With the rail infrastructure already in place in Europe, we can offer our customers a wider choice and even more convenient travel options. "

Differences for passengers on the railway line:

  • Customers can either check-in at Accesrail.com to receive their boarding pass with Delta ticket confirmation, or they can purchase the train ticket from the counter at the train station. The seat and the wagon in which you are traveling are indicated on the ticket accordingly.
  • On the day of travel, customers arriving in Amsterdam by plane have to go through customs as usual and collect their luggage before boarding the train.
  • The same check-in procedure applies to travelers taking the train to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Customers keep their luggage on the train and check in for their flight as usual.
