Ancona: Aeroitalia terminates PSO contract

The airline Aeroitalia is withdrawing from Ancona at the end of the current winter flight schedule period. The PSO contract would actually have run until the end of October 2024, but a letter of termination was sent to Enac.

In Ancona, things went extremely bumpy for Aeroitlia from the start because, for example, the start of the Vienna route was postponed several times and then discontinued after a few circulations due to lack of demand. Now the subsidized domestic flights to Rome-Fiumicino, Naples and Milan-Linate are no longer available.

In the meantime, the public sector has already launched a new tender. They want to find a new operator for the internal Italian routes. According to reports, the South Tyrolean airline Skyalps is at least interested.
