The Belgian Lufthansa subsidiary Brussels Airlines received a four-star rating from Apex for the year 2021. As part of a virtual ceremony, the carrier was "presented" with the corresponding award on Wednesday.

APEX is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to improving the overall airline passenger experience, awarding four- and five-star airlines in four categories each year: global airlines, major airlines, regional airlines and low cost airlines. On a five-star scale, between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020, more than one million flights by passengers on almost 600 airlines around the world were rated. Initially, the passengers rated their entire flight experience from one to five stars. Passengers then had the opportunity to submit anonymous ratings in five sub-categories: seating comfort, cabin service, food and drink, entertainment and WiFi. As a result, Brussels Airlines received a four-star major airline rating for 2021.

“A four-star rating, especially from our passengers, is a real honor and reward for the dedication of all Brussels Airlines employees to deliver outstanding service and products. In addition to a very personal customer experience, we have invested in a brand new boutique hotel experience on our intercontinental flights and introduced a Premium Economy Class, which is very much appreciated by our guests. This award is a testament to the high quality standards we can offer and encourages us to continue investing in our passenger experience. This is in line with our new corporate vision of being the most reliable airline so that everyone feels at home, ”said Tanguy Cartuyvels, Head of Customer Experience, Marketing and Product.
