April 2021: Upward trend at German airports

The German commercial airports were able to count significantly more travelers in April 2020 than in the same month last year, but they were around 89,3 percent below the value in 2019. A total of 2.270.400 passengers were counted.

At +173,4 percent, the number of commercial flight movements was up on the previous year, but was significantly lower than in 2019 at -66,7 percent. The airports recorded 63.235 take-offs and landings. Domestic German traffic increased by almost 300.000 passengers compared to the previous year (+544,0 percent), but compared to the pre-crisis year it was -91,1 percent). European traffic increases to 1,47 million passengers (+920,0 percent), but at -88,9 percent is still below the pre-crisis level of 2019. Intercontinental demand is growing to over 400.000 passengers (+360,1 percent ), but is down by -2019 percent compared to April 88,1.
