The airline Arajet has ordered 20 Boeing 737 Max 200 aircraft. Furthermore, options for up to 15 more copies were secured, the manufacturer and the carrier announced. The fleet can thus be expanded to 40 aircraft.
The aircraft order was completed in January 2022 and is currently associated with an unidentified customer on Boeing's orders and deliveries website. “The efficient Boeing 737 Max, coupled with the financial and operational support of our partners at Griffin and Bain Capital, gives us the solid foundation to offer affordable flights to travelers in the region,” said Victor Pacheco Mendez, Founder and CEO of Arajet. “These partners believe in our vision and see the same bright future for this market and beyond. The whole team was thrilled when our first aircraft arrived in Santo Domingo a few days ago and we look forward to adding more of these amazing jets to our fleet in the coming months.”
"The 737 Max is a perfect fit for Arajet, and we're honored to welcome this exciting new operator to the Boeing family," said Mike Wilson, vice president of sales, Latin America & Caribbean, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "By deploying an exclusive 737 Max fleet, Arajet can save on fuel, maintenance and operational costs and pass those savings on to its customers."
