A current survey, which was carried out on behalf of the Austrian motorist club ARBÖ, showed that around 49 percent of those surveyed are unsure about travel and Corona. Nevertheless, 79 percent want to spend a vacation or have already spent it.

As in the previous year, the most popular holiday destination is Austria: 37 percent of the people surveyed stated Austria as the destination for their holiday. This is followed by Croatia (26 percent) and Italy (24 percent). Germany and Greece are still on the list, each with around 5 percent. Basically, it can be said that holidays will not be spent outside of Europe again this year.

According to the ARBÖ survey, more than three quarters of those questioned prefer the car as their favorite means of transport to their destination. This is followed - far behind - with 6 percent the motorhome and with 5,5 percent the airplane.

For most of the people surveyed, the duration of the vacation is one week (55 percent). Relaxing for up to two weeks, on the other hand, is hip for 30 percent and only 14 percent are on the road for more than two weeks. The most common travels are with the family: 75 percent stated that they were spending their well-deserved vacation with their loved ones. 14 percent are out with friends and only 7,5 percent enjoy the time alone.

This information is also reflected in the inquiries that the ARBÖ information service is currently receiving more and more. "Many people are currently inquiring about the entry regulations and border waiting times for Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Germany," says ARBÖ traffic expert Jürgen Fraberger. "The question of the validity of the passport, i.e. whether I am allowed to enter the country with an expired passport, as well as the regulations for day trips (less than 24 hours) to neighboring countries are very often a topic in our information service," continues Fraberger.
