BER architect Meinhard von Gerkan passed away

On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the architect Meinhard von Gerkan died in Hamburg at the age of 87. His most famous works include the airports Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Brandenburg as well as the Berlin Central Station.

Architectural firm GMP announced the architect's death on Thursday, citing family members. He was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1935 and made an unparalleled career as an architect. His office currently employs around 400 people at various locations spread almost around the world.
