Arctic Pro Cruises: A new name for an expanded offering in the Arctic

The operator Iceland Pro Cruises has renamed itself Arctic Pro Cruises and with this name change is sending a clear signal for the expansion of its portfolio. From the 2025 Arctic season, the company will not only offer its tried and tested Iceland cruises, but also new trips to other Arctic regions, including Greenland. By renaming, Arctic Pro Cruises is taking into account the fact that the company's offering is now much more diverse than before. This step is a reaction to the shipping company's successful restart, which was initiated after the sale of the chartered expedition ship "Seaventure" by the shipping company Scylla in September 2024.

With the new name, Arctic Pro Cruises wants to draw its customers' attention to the expanded range of travel options, which now also includes joiner and group trips to new destinations. In combination with the traditional Iceland trips, trips to other Arctic regions are now also offered. In the coming years, travelers will not only be able to experience the breathtaking landscape of Iceland, but also explore the untouched nature of Spitsbergen and Greenland. Particularly noteworthy is the expansion of the travel portfolio through new partnerships, such as the collaboration with Oceanwide Expeditions and Plantours.

Expedition cruises with a special focus on the Arctic

Arctic Pro Cruises currently offers four ships for its expedition cruises: the Oceanwide expedition trio "Hondius" (170 passengers), "Ortelius" and "Plancius" (108 passengers each) and the Plantours ship "Hamburg" with space for 400 guests. All ships specialize in expedition cruises and offer an intensive experience of nature, giving passengers a very special perspective on the Arctic regions.

The cruises, which last up to 18 days, take passengers to classic destinations such as Spitsbergen, Iceland and Greenland. Passengers can look forward to a variety of activities that make the travel experience even more intense. These include kayaking, hiking tours and Zodiac excursions, which allow guests to experience the unique landscapes up close. The philosophy of Arctic Pro Cruises remains unchanged: small, maneuverable ships are used to explore the destinations intensively and offer passengers unforgettable impressions. Managing director Ann-Cathrin Bröcker explains in a statement that this claim will also be continued under the new name.

New group tours and individual offers

A special highlight of the coming season are two new group trips that Arctic Pro Cruises will offer under the name "Hamburg". The first trip, the 18-day "Hot Springs and Eternal Ice" cruise in July 2025, combines Iceland and Greenland and starts in Hamburg. The second trip is the ten-day "West Greenland Adventure", which departs from Kangerlussuaq in August 2025 and includes a charter flight from Frankfurt. These trips are specifically tailored to the needs of groups and offer a unique experience for anyone who wants to explore the Arctic world in a smaller, more personal atmosphere.

With these new trips, Arctic Pro Cruises is responding even more closely to the wishes of travelers and expanding its offering beyond the classic sea voyages. The combination of planned group trips and additional booking options ensures that different travel preferences are covered, which makes the offer interesting for a broad target group.

Despite the renaming and the expansion of the portfolio, much remains the same. Arctic Pro Cruises retains the existing agency contracts and the operator abbreviation "IPT". This means that travel agencies and partners can continue to work with the company under the familiar conditions. The operator "Island Pro Travel", which belongs to Arctic Pro Cruises as a brand, and the specialist provider of fishing trips, "Island Pro Fishing", also remain unchanged. This continuity ensures stability and trust among the company's long-standing partners and customers.

Arctic Pro Cruises and the Future Market of Arctic Travel

The renaming and expansion of Arctic Pro Cruises' portfolio is not only a response to changing market conditions, but also a response to the growing interest in traveling to the Arctic. In recent years, Arctic expeditions have become increasingly popular. The desire to experience remote, untouched regions has led to a booming market for expedition cruises. Arctic Pro Cruises has recognized this development and is responding with an expanded offering that now includes Greenland and other Arctic areas.

In the future, the company is likely to benefit from the growing demand for individual and intensive travel experiences. By combining traditional destinations with new, exciting destinations, Arctic Pro Cruises offers its customers the opportunity to discover new sides of the Arctic again and again - in a way that maintains the original concept of intensive discovery and experiences.
