Asia Jin Yuan: All You Can Eat near Stuttgart Airport

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Asia Jin Yuan Restaurant in Ebersbach an der Fils has enjoyed great popularity for several years and is a fixture for fans of Asian cuisine in the region. With its extensive range of dishes from various Asian countries, such as China, Japan and Thailand, and the generous buffet with Mongolian grill and sushi, it attracts both locals and tourists.

The restaurant is located in Ebersbach an der Fils, Göppingen district, Baden-Württemberg, around half an hour by car from the Stuttgart Trade Fair or Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport. This restaurant is also easily accessible by public transport, with trains and buses. Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport is also the closest long-distance bus station, which is served by Flixbus, Blablacar Bus and other providers.

Varied buffet with Mongolian grill

Asia Jin Yuan offers a wide range of dishes, which appeals to many guests. The buffet is particularly popular, and includes sushi, fried noodles, fresh salads and various types of meat and fish. The highlight is undoubtedly the Mongolian grill, where guests can choose their ingredients and have them freshly prepared. This concept makes it possible to take individual taste preferences into account and is particularly attractive to families and groups, as there is something for every taste.

As in many Asian restaurants, it makes a difference in price when you visit Asia Jin Yuan. It is cheapest from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 11:30 a.m. and 14:45 p.m. The lunch buffet costs 18,50 euros per adult including two drinks. In the evenings and at weekends, the buffet, including Mongolian grill, all non-alcoholic drinks and two beers or two glasses of wine, costs 30 euros. On Saturdays, lunch is a little cheaper at 25 euros for the same services.

The food and drinks are offered in buffet form, i.e. self-service. There is no real control over how many drinks are actually consumed. There is only a notice on a refrigerator indicating that if you exceed the included amount of alcoholic drinks, you will be charged two euros for each additional beer or wine. This is an extremely reasonable price in a restaurant setting.

The quality of the food on offer is high. The possibility of having crabs, kangaroo meat and much more prepared on the Mongolian grill is a big plus. The Japanese corner, which offers specialties such as sushi, is also impressive in terms of quality and taste. Also interesting and worthwhile: the freshly grilled salmon. You should definitely try it here.

There is some debate about whether Asian all-you-can-eat buffets could use regular refreshments in the form of changing dishes. Actually, yes, but it is also the case that many guests simply expect certain meals. The classic here is probably sweet and sour chicken. On closer inspection, you quickly see that this restaurant offers a lot more and is not a "standard buffet". Especially in the area of fresh ingredients, which can be prepared on the grill, the offer depends on the current market situation. This is where the variety can be found and not in the breaded chicken.

The desserts on offer, however, consist of ice cream, pudding, various cakes and tarts, as well as the world-famous "Asian desserts". There are no surprises here and pretty much no variety at all. There are also gummy bears to help yourself to and if you want to surprise or annoy your guests at the table a little, you can serve a "diet portion", i.e. a single gummy bear on the plate.

Service and ambience: Friendly, but needs improvement

The service at Asia Jin Yuan is generally rated positively. The staff is friendly and attentive. Empty plates or glasses are cleared away in no time. Guests' special requests are also fulfilled as quickly and easily as possible, which is particularly important in the catering industry. According to reviews on platforms such as Tripadvisor and Sluurpy, the staff takes guests' needs into account and tries to make the visit as pleasant as possible.

One critical point is that some areas of the restaurant are very closely spaced. This may be because Asia Jin Yuan is very popular in this region, which is near Stuttgart. You should make a reservation in advance by phone or email, especially on weekends and in the evenings. The operators try to accommodate the high demand by placing the seats close together, probably with the perfectly legitimate intention of generating more sales. This means that it can sometimes get tight in this Asian restaurant.

The toilet facilities are large enough for the size of the restaurant and are clean and attractive. At the time of our visit, the restaurant was very busy. There were no waiting times at the toilets or at the buffets.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is not really surprising, typically Asian and slightly kitschy. However, there are no unnecessary decorative items such as oversized vases or aquariums with overfed freshwater fish. They stick to the essentials and instead place good spices on the tables for the guests.

Getting there by public transport from STR is quick and easy

The Asia Jin Yuan is located in Ebersbach an der Fils, Göppingen district, in Baden-Württemberg. The nearest international airport is Stuttgart-Echterdingen (STR). From here, Ebersbach an der Fils can be reached quickly by bus and train.

By car, the journey from the airport takes about half an hour. Public transport users should get off at the train station or in front of Ebersbach train station. The restaurant is practically directly opposite. Drivers can use a free parking garage, with a direct entrance on the first floor.

Conclusion: A restaurant with potential and room for improvement

Overall, Asia Jin Yuan Restaurant offers a solid dining experience for lovers of Asian cuisine. The extensive buffet, Mongolian grill and wide selection of dishes make the restaurant particularly attractive for larger groups. The friendliness of the staff is also worth mentioning. However, the consistent selection and mixed experiences with cleanliness lead some guests to reconsider their visits.

If you want to experience Asian cuisine in a casual atmosphere with a good selection of traditional and modern dishes, Asia Jin Yuan is sure to be the place to go. In the long term, however, the restaurant could benefit from improvements - especially in adapting the menu. A breath of fresh air could certainly benefit Asia Jin Yuan's continued popularity and motivate guests to return regularly.

The Asia Jin Yuan is also a good tip for trade fair visitors attending events at the Stuttgart State Fair, which is located directly opposite Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport, because you can get to Ebersbach by car and sometimes by public transport quicker than anywhere in the city center of Stuttgart. A key factor: the free parking garage helps you avoid the usual parking chaos in the state capital Stuttgart.
