The Kenyan cargo airline Astral Aviation is about to take over its first Boeing 767-200F. The 38-year-old aircraft, which was previously in service with Delta Air Lines, ABX Air and West Air Sweden, is leased by the Air Transport Service Group for five years. “We are pleased that the B767 has been added to our service. This aircraft will enable us to better serve the needs of our customers in our intra-African and Middle Eastern networks. Partnering with the world's largest 767 rental company, ATSG, is something we've been looking for for a while. I see this as the beginning of something special for Astral and all of sub-Saharan Africa, ”said Sanjeev Gadhia, CEO of Astral Aviation, with delight. The B767F will complement the freight activities to the 50 destinations in Africa and Europe that have so far been served by Fokker 27, Douglas DC-9, Boeing 727F and Boeing 747-400F operated jointly with Air Atlanta Icelandic via the two bases in Nairobi and Liegé.
