Due to the pandemic, the Lufthansa subsidiary had to stop flights to Klagenfurt. But the forced break is now over: for the first time in many months there is a scheduled flight connection between Klagenfurt and Vienna.

Austrian Airlines have been flying regularly to Carinthia Airport again since yesterday. The Embraer 14 jet started to land shortly before 195 p.m. When they arrived at KLU, the Austrian crew was given a festive welcome by Maximilian Wildt, Head of Aviation Marketing at Klagenfurt Airport.

Initially, there will be three flights a week - Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. But the frequency will soon be increased, the airline is planning to operate five weekly flights from the beginning of July. The ORF reports. However, there will be no early or late flights to Vienna yet.

Cologne-Klagenfurt can be booked again

There is also good news for travelers from Germany. In the course of the Europe-wide easing, Eurowings is also increasing its offer in Austria. The airline will resume the flight connection from Cologne to Klagenfurt, the first plane will take off on June 26th. The route will initially be served with up to four flights per week.
