The Irish Civil Aviation Authority has de-registered all aircraft owned by Russian operators that were registered in Ireland. This follows the approach of the Bermuda Islands. This means that these machines are no longer allowed to take off.
while on the Bermuda around 750 aircraft operated by Russian operators were entered in the register, according to CH-Aviation.com there were only 34 in Ireland. Affected are Alrosa Airlines with two B737-700 and four B737-800, iFlyAirlines with six A330-200 and three A330-300 and Rossiya with nine B747-400, five B777-300 and five B777-300ER.
Russia's President Vladimir Putin has enacted a law that should significantly speed up the transfer to the Russian register. The authority was authorized to issue national certificates for aircraft previously registered in Ireland or on the Bermuda Islands. These should enable domestic use. At the same time, it should be made as complicated as possible for lessors to get hold of their property.
