In August 2019, the European flight volume reached around 71 percent of the value achieved in 2019. Eurocontrol announced this.

It is noteworthy that there are strong regional differences. These are primarily attributed to different Corona travel rules. The United Kingdom brought up the rear, accounting for just 51 percent of the August 2019 figure. It looked completely different with 91 percent in Albania.

Greece was also strong at 81 percent. Italy was 76 percent and Spain 74 percent. With 65 percent of the value of August 2019, the Federal Republic of Germany was just ahead of the Netherlands, which reached 61 percent. Domestic flights have played a particularly important role in Spain, Greece and Italy. If you look at these separately, the volume from August 2019 was even exceeded.
