The Mexican government is currently offering a total of 19 aircraft in an auction. These will be brought under the hammer by the Office for the Return of Stolen Items on March 12, 2021. According to the media release, the auction was postponed to this date due to the Covid situation.

The following machines are listed in the tender documents:

  • Boeing 757-200, XC-UJM (MSN: 22690)
  • Boeing 737-300, XC-LJG (MSN: 24361)
  • two Learjet 31, without further details
  • Cessna C310, without further details
  • Cessna C414, without further details
  • four AW109SP, without further details
  • three Eurocopter AS355, no details
  • four Eurocopter AS332, no details
  • two Eurocopter EC225, without further details

All machines are of course not stolen, but are currently owned by state authorities. These are taken out of service and sold to the highest bidder in an auction.

Visiting the helicopters and planes is possible. Interested parties can register until March 11, 2021 and make an appointment for the inspection of the desired machines. The usual securities must also be deposited before the start of the auction in order to prevent the participation of fun bidders. This is common practice at auctions worldwide.
