Boeing delivered significantly fewer aircraft in April than in the previous month.
According to its own data, the Airbus rival handed over a total of 35 machines to customers – in March there were 41. The trend is therefore downwards. The majority was accounted for by the earlier problem aircraft 737 MAX. The medium-haul jet is Boeing's most sought-after model, although it was banned from take-off for a long time after two crashes. The balance sheet continues to suffer from problems with the long-haul aircraft 787 “Dreamliner”, which cannot be delivered due to production defects, as the aviation portal says Aero reported. Boeing's orders fell to 53 from 46 in the previous month.
In contrast, things are looking much rosier at Airbus: The European aircraft manufacturer and Boeing's largest direct competitor delivered 48 commercial aircraft in April and received orders for 98 machines. In the first third of the year, Airbus customers took delivery of 190 aircraft. The manufacturer has thus only achieved a good quarter of its goal of delivering around 720 machines this year. However, deliveries at Airbus usually pick up towards the end of the year.
