Australia stays tight - Qantas is hiring

Advertising

As the borders remain tight until 2021, Qantas will close almost all international connections. There is only hope in the direction of New Zealand.

The Australian Oneworld member Qantas will largely suspend international air traffic until the end of October 2020. This does not apply to connections to New Zealand, as it is expected that the two governments will allow travel options between Australia and New Zealand. They also want to continue flying within the continent.

The background to this measure is that the Australian government will extend the closure of the borders until 2021. The only exceptions are own citizens, permanent residents and their relatives. After the entry formalities, a 14-day quarantine must be started in an accommodation specified by the health authority. The government is currently reviewing exemptions for students and key workers.
