Corona infections are still a current issue on cruise ships. Only recently, the Pacific Explorer, with around 3.000 passengers and crew members, docked in Australia. There were more than 100 confirmed corona cases on board.
The ship docked at White Bay Cruise Ship Terminal in Sydney on Monday. It was previously on a nine-day cruise off the Queensland coast. According to the shipping company, those who tested positive must remain in their cabins. These have even been marked with red stickers. Only those who can show a negative antigen rapid test are allowed to leave the ship.
It is not an isolated case, because just a few days ago, the Coral Princess docked in Sydney with more than 100 people who tested positive. In the aftermath, the numbers were even corrected upwards. The regional government now wants to discuss further steps in dealing with cruise ships.
