The Austrian Airlines plane OE-LPF took off yesterday at 10:40 a.m. local time for its first flight to Cancun. Passengers and crew of the Boeing 777 with a seating capacity of 306 were bid farewell with Mexican rhythms and a typical breakfast at the gate at Vienna Airport.

Twelve hours later, the first flight OS095 landed safely in Cancún, where it was greeted with water fountains. During the winter flight schedule 2021/22, the holiday destination in sunny Mexico will be served by Austrian on Thursdays and Sundays. Due to the high demand during the Christmas holidays, the Cancún offer was increased to ten instead of seven round trips between December 19 and January 9. “With our winter flight schedule, we are targeting attractive long-haul destinations in order to satisfy our passengers' desire to travel. With the direct connection to Cancún, we are expanding our long-haul offer in the tourist segment, ”says Austrian Airlines Chief Sales Officer Michael Trestl.

Also Mauritius and Maldives in the AUA winter flight schedule

Last weekend, the airline not only took off to Cancun, Mauritius and the Maldives are also being served again. During the winter season, the red-white-red home airline takes off three times a week to Malé and Mauritius. Due to increased booking requests, the Austrian flag carrier is also increasing its capacities at these destinations during the Christmas holidays. Between December 17 and January 9, Malé will be served with 15 instead of ten and Mauritius with 13 instead of ten round trips.
