From July 2020, the Lufthansa subsidiary plans to offer long-haul flights again. A total of 36 machines will be deployed across the entire route network.

As expected, Austrian Airlines will increase the offer next month: From July the flight program will be increased to over 50 destinations, increasing from five to 20 percent of the pre-Corona level. 36 planes are used for this - almost half of the fleet. These include three Boeing 767s, which will fly long-haul routes to Bangkok, Chicago, New York and Washington, as well as mostly smaller machines such as the Airbus A319, Embraer 195 and Dash 8.

In particular, the frequencies will be increased within Europe. The flag carrier will be flying to Zurich up to three times a day over the next month. Paris, Brussels and Hamburg as well as other travel destinations are connected up to twice a day. The number of flights to Eastern Europe is also increasing: there are up to twice a day to Sofia and Bucharest.

“Summer is the most popular travel time. We see that with the current bookings. That is why we will continue to increase our offer in July and fly to over 50 destinations worldwide, ”said Austrian Airlines CCO Andreas Otto.
