The Summer Olympics in Tokyo begin on July 23. Austrian Airlines is once again the official partner of the Austrian Olympic Committee and will fly domestic athletes non-stop to Japan.
A large part of the team is scheduled to take off for Tokyo on July 16. Austrian Airlines was there for the official outfitting of Austria's Olympic team and wished them all the best for the upcoming competitions. "As Austria's home airline, we are proud to fly the Olympic team non-stop to Tokyo," says Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl. "With our high service standards, our crew will ensure that the athletes come to Japan safely and relaxed."
“It is already a good tradition that our partner and official carrier Austrian Airlines flies the Austrian Olympic teams to the games. The pandemic has hit the aviation industry hard, so it is all the more gratifying that it is now allowed to take a more positive look into the future again. The athletes have been flying to Tokyo at high speed since July 5th and can count on the advantages of Austrian Airlines during their trip, ”explains ÖOC President Karl Stoss.
Austrian Airlines will be flying twice a week from Vienna to Tokyo in the summer as planned. There will even be a third weekly flight in phases during the Olympic Games. The largest aircraft in the fleet is used - a Boeing 777 with over 300 seats.
