Austrian Airlines is now selling flights across the entire route network of its sister companies Lufthansa, Swiss, and Brussels Airlines. For this purpose, the booking engine has been renewed and also offers additional functions for travel planning.

“Our greatest goal is to offer our customers a unique travel experience with Austrian Airlines. That is why we design our digital touchpoints, such as our website, with maximum added value for our passengers, ”explains Austrian Airlines Board Member for Sales Michael Trestl. “The pandemic has changed customer needs massively. The desire for more flexibility in travel planning has become even more essential. We respond to this proactively by offering new services such as “Secure Your Fare” or additional online services for the entire travel chain on austrian.com ”.

Austrian Airlines passengers now have the opportunity to reserve their flight booking for 48 hours in order to clarify further travel details at your leisure. The service is free if the booking is confirmed within 48 hours. The flight price remains unchanged during the reservation. If the booking is not completed, a service fee will apply.

Previously, when passengers wanted to add products and services such as an upgrade or insurance after completing their booking, this was previously only possible with credit card payments. This is now changing because you can choose from several payment options such as PayPal or Klarna-Sofort-Überweisung.

Furthermore, you can choose the currency in which the card is to be charged for credit card payments. The current exchange rate is displayed and payment is guaranteed. This eliminates the additional fees that credit institutions usually charge when using foreign currencies. The new booking platform also offers a further advantage for pieces of luggage: from August, passengers can book an additional piece of luggage online for every Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airline, Lufthansa or Swiss flight.
