After public criticism, the Lufthansa subsidiary now wants to examine the amount of pension payments to a particularly privileged group.

In the last few days it has come to light that Austrian Airlines has almost unnoticed provisions for 160 old pensions in the amount of 120 million euros, while the current workforce has to accept cuts in salaries. Now the airline joins the discussion and wants to examine these payments more closely.

The aim should be to introduce austerity measures among former employees as well. This is also in accordance with the national legal system, such as orf.at reported. "We have agreed with the Bord works council that the performance pensioners who are included in the collective agreement will also make a temporary contribution to the crisis," an AUA spokesman told the courier.
