The Avia Solutions Group has relocated its headquarters to Dublin, Ireland. According to its own statements, it is the island state's second largest aviation company after Ryanair. Until now, the official headquarters have been in Limassol, Cyprus, although the majority of employees continue to work in Vilnius.
"The move of the company's headquarters to Ireland was a strategically important step for us in view of our further development plans," explains Jonas Janukenas, CEO of Avia Solutions Group. “Ireland is known as the center of aviation. A large number of airlines are based here, so being closer to the airline community will allow us to accelerate the Group's development plans and maintain market leadership."
The decision to move the official group headquarters to Ireland is said to have a completely different reason. The head of the company also mentions that the Dublin Stock Exchange offers simplified access to institutional investors from the USA and Europe. This would have significantly influenced the decision for the Irish capital.
The Group operates in numerous countries. For example in Lithuania, South Africa, USA, Australia, Ireland, United Arab Emirates and some countries in the Asia-Pacific region. With around 165 aircraft registered on AOCs in various countries, it is quite a large provider in the ACMI and charter segment. The company is also active in the areas of aircraft maintenance, pilot and crew training and ground handling. According to the company, it employs around 11.000 people.
Airlines belonging to the Avia Solutions Group include Klasjet, Smartlynx and Avion Express. The last two carriers mentioned maintain flight operations in various countries, including Malta, which have their own certificates. In the summer of 2022, the Maltese offshoot of Avion Express was in the air with numerous Airbus A320s on behalf of Eurowings.
