The corona pandemic found another victim in Avion Express. The company, which specializes in the provision of ACMI and charter services, announced that it will file for bankruptcy. According to Lithuanian law, this is comparable to the US Chapter 11.

Intensive negotiations are currently underway with service providers and suppliers. The aim is that the company can continue. With the restructuring process one wants to reposition oneself financially. An exact time for filing the application with the competent court in Vilnius has not yet been communicated. In any case, this should take place “in the next few weeks” after the negotiations with the creditors.

“The pandemic is a difficult time for many aerospace companies, including Avion Express. In order to cope with the challenges of the pandemic, many changes were made in the business in 2020 ”, said company boss Darius Kajokas. “As a further step, in addition to the most recent adjustments and optimizations in the last eight months, we have decided to initiate a financial restructuring and to seek protection against the company's creditors. Such a decision is aimed at optimally coordinating the interests of our creditors and ensuring the sustainable continuity of Avion Express' activities "
