The Vietnamese airline Bamboo Airways has officially announced its long-planned European flights. From February 25, 2022, Boeing 787-9s will fly twice a week from Hanoi to Frankfurt am Main.
It should go to London Heathrow from March 22, 2022. Two weekly rotations are also planned for the British capital. Other additions include Melbourne (2/7) from Ho Chi Minh City, scheduled to begin operations on February 19, 2022, and Tokyo-Narita from January 25, 2022.
"Starting with a route connecting Vietnam to Germany's largest airport, Frankfurt, we expect to rapidly expand our flight network to many of Germany's economic hubs and provide opportunities to reach and experience new international destinations," said Bamboo CEO Dang Tat Thang.
It will compete with Vietnam Airlines on the Frankfurt route. This carrier plans to reactivate the currently paused route on January 27, 2022. From February 8, 2022, this will be served once a week according to the pattern Hanoi-Frankfurt-London Heathrow-Hanoi. Furthermore, Vietnam Airlines intends to operate the second round as Hanoi-Frankfurt-Paris CDG-Hanoi.
Bamboo Airways schedules from Ho Chi Minh City to fly to Munich. There is no specific start date for this route yet. They also want to fly to Frankfurt am Main from this Vietnamese city. A few weeks ago, there was a vague prospect of gradual admission from January 16, 2022, but the necessary permits had not yet been obtained. Now you start in February 2022 with Hanoi-Frankfurt. Melbourne was announced for April 2022 but will now start earlier. In Germany, Bamboo Airways is represented by Aviareps.
