Basel Airport has been awarded Level 4 “Airport Carbon Accreditation” by ACI Europe. It is the first Swiss airport to achieve this level of certification.

In France, only the airports on the Côte d'Azur (Nice, Saint Tropez, Cannes) have been certified higher than EuroAirport with level 4+. This was preceded by an audit by the independent testing agency Verifavia on behalf of ACI Europe. The certification confirms EuroAirport's efforts to reduce its own CO2 emissions and to involve its partners on the airport platform.

To date, 396 airports in 76 countries around the world have participated in this environmental certification. EuroAirport is one of the first twenty airports in Europe to be certified at one of the two highest levels of the program.
