The low-cost airline Wizz Air is currently looking for staff to be deployed from the Vienna base. According to reports, the carrier currently has too few employees for the summer of 2022, especially in the field of flight attendants.
The presence of the Hungarian low-coster is significantly smaller this year than it was before the corona pandemic, because the announced increase the Vienna base did not come. The carrier has planes withdrawn and numerous routes cancelled. Typical holiday destinations such as Palma de Mallorca have also fallen victim to the “string concert”.
In contrast to Austrian Airlines, the Wizz Air branch registered in the Austrian company register did not apply for short-time work. The flight crew was repeatedly short of flights only the basic wage is paid. This is not particularly high and led to many flight attendants leaving the company and reorienting themselves in other industries.
The low-cost airline now wants to hire new employees who are needed at the greatly reduced base in Vienna. Despite the fact that significantly fewer aircraft are stationed in the Austrian capital and, according to the company, only 38 destinations in 23 countries are served, additional workers are obviously urgently needed. It is aimed at people with previous experience as well as newcomers and career changers.
“We are happy to be able to start again as usual this summer and also to be able to fly many new routes from the base in Vienna. We have noticed that the desire to travel is now even greater after the Corona-related break, which is also reflected in our booking figures. That is why we are once again looking for committed employees in Austria who would like to have their workplace above the clouds," explains Andras Rado, Senior Cabin Crew Recruitment Manager at Wizz Air.
