The Belarusian airline Belavia is discontinuing the lion's share of the routes. The route network last comprised 30 destinations, but due to the restrictions of EU members and other countries, only nine destinations can be served.

Primarily all destinations that are located in the Union area are affected. Air traffic with Russia, Turkey and some CIS countries is to be maintained. Will shortly Belavia realign the route network. Most of the targets will then be in the Russian Federation. Other former Soviet destinations are also to be added.

In the meantime, the European Union has formalized the ban on airlines based in Belarus. Previously, the bans were issued by the individual nation states. Belavia, among others, is now prohibited from taking off or landing in the EU. Overflights are also no longer permitted.
