Due to the spread of the Delta variant of the corona virus across Europe, the Belgian government is tightening passenger controls at the country's airports. Among other things, Charleroi and Brussels announced that the police and health authorities will systematically check incoming passengers.

These checks are carried out on all flights arriving in Brussels on a random basis and are coordinated and carried out by the Federal Police. Every passenger has the opportunity to be subjected to a police check. Brussels Airport supports the Federal Police so that everything runs as smoothly as possible. During peak hours, these controls can create queues for passengers.

“We therefore ask our passengers to prepare for these checks and to have their necessary documents and PLF to hand. We also ask the airlines to carry out the necessary checks on their passengers before boarding the aircraft at the departure airport, ”said Brussels Airport.

The country's largest airport expects around 40.000 passengers per day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is therefore assumed that there may be longer waiting times due to the official entry controls. Brussels Airport asks for your understanding for this.
